Launching Ceremony Disability People Scholarship

On Thursday 22 August 2019 ceremony held in Mogadishu  for the launching of disability scholarship program organized by SASDI Somali disability association for the scholars with disabilities non profit organization based in the country .

The program aim to find a system that allows PWDs persons with disabilities access free education both primary, secondary and university level with partner of the education institutions both public and private service providers

This years is the year with largest disabled people graduation from the secondary school who got the final exam both education networks level and national level centralized    exam which is made by the federal state governments and federal government jointly which cover whole Somalia country

The participants were  mostly from the PWDs persons with disability recently graduate who come to gather share the celebration of their achievement and accomplishment of the education academic. And present  their interest and commitment to continue their education to the higher education for university level

this is part of the disability empowerment in somalia and the start of the CRPD implementation through the advocacy for the education for the disability people with support of the Somali Disability Cluster and UNSOM human rights and the protection group partner the implementation of the CRPD in somalia

Mr. Ahmed Dige member of the recently graduate students with visual impaired said. We took long distance to learn education with hard  condition we feel to be discriminated among the student by the education provider institutions who some of them refused to accept blind people for university academic classes he made his call to the government  to insure the role of the education for the blind people in this academic year.

Mr. Ismail Ahmed Rage the chairperson of the SASDi thanked to the all participants for the event, he encouraged the disabled student to be active to further their education, and to the universities and the government to give chance the disability students.  Let open door the education for the disability people.
