Three days CRPD community awareness and outreach finalized in Mogadishu

On Tuesday 06 August 2019 Somalia disability cluster has finalized   three days CRPD workshop for community awareness the implementation of the convention rights persons with disabilities for the people in the village of Wadajir district Mogadishu

There training was started on Sunday 04 august 2019 and finished to day on 06 August 2019 in the IEDP center training room where the training took place the last three days. The participants learnt more about the CRPD and the role of the parents for the protection of the PWDs persons with disabilities in general  the children, youth and the old people

Somali disability cluster with cooperation the UNSOM Human rights protection groups organized the training for the 75 persons from the grass root level community mostly families with children. The participants exchanged their impact after the session in the three days where some of them responded the well their ability to protect  PWDs persons with disabilities in the community

The articles give priority in the session were  education, health, freedom of expression, right to marry, participation of social, economic and political which all were good articles giving hope the PWDs in the community. The people in the workshop realized their role  to make changes the stigma and discrimination against the PWDs

Most people agree that disability is not in ability and discrimination is serotype against the disability people that could be stop. The bad names, the prevention of service delivery and barrier in the averment access the public service provider institutions and building

This one of the largest CRPD implantation awareness and outreach launched since the Somalia government finished the ratification of the convention the end of the last month weeks ago. Where the need for more other session is identified in the discussions
