On Sunday 04 August 2019 the first day of community outreach for the CRPD convection rights persons with disability is held in Mogadishu at IEDP center for twenty persons from the community both male and females most of the parent with children who were trained the overall convection provisional articles and services deliverable for the trainees
The first day of the workshop was inter active where participants exchanged the rights of the persons with disabilities in general care, protection and development. And the rights of the children for education, care, freedom of expression for the children in the participation of family and community.
The session was community engagement and outreach for the CRPD where the stakeholder for the implementation the families, DPOs, civil society, donors and decision makers role and responsibility is deeply explained for the participants of the workshop.
This part of the CRPD implementation to spread in the community from the grass roots level the civil society, teachers, traditional leaders, religious groups and members of the private business. The CRPD community outreach will train these groups their role of the implementation in the society.
the training is jointly facilitated by the IEDP the implementing agency with coordination of the CBR Somalia Network community based rehabilitation SDC Somali Disability Cluster with support of the UNSOM human right section
Somalia signed CRPD ministry of human rights october 2018, parliament may 2019, ministry of foreign july 2019 and somalia president june 2019. all these will lead Somali full participation of the CRPD member state community in the united nation
