As female persons with disability graduated from university living in Somalia a cultural oriented society where the disability is bad luck and misfortune in the people. Most people don’t really like or welcome you if you are disability people. Verbally people may say you good words. But when it cams your right and role suddenly the face of people will change with anger or despise.
I took the chance to say the right of the persons with disabilities; I was the sole female disability participating the session in that day. Bravely I have narrated the plight of the females with disabilities in the Somali community which forgot plight of the disability girls and women in Somalia where they have double problems in the life time
The First is a female, where Somalia people neglect the active role of the females persons in the community in the economy and policy where female participation in the top leaders of these two sectors are males dominating without apology or guilty of crime against the humanity.
The second is that female with disabilities in Somalia suffer physical, sensory and intellectual limitation in the community that great number of female with disabilities fall one of these three categories. No matter the destiny as disability persons. The problems is deliberately discretion against the male with disabilities which is common in some of our people.
In Somalia where non disabled female has more problems in the social and political mainly the leadership and economic where the families and clans in the society have poor stereotype against the contribution of the female person in our community
As disability activist many more people attach verbal for active contribution and movement to the disability in genera; and in particularly the female disabilities. Accumulated problems I personally suffered in the life forced me to stand for the disability people activist. Where I later realized that female with disabilities suffer more than male with disabilities
