13 October 2018 the federal parliament of Somalia will have their normal work session which is supposed to discuss the Somalia national authority bill which has been in front of the parliament for reading since July .
national disability authority bill is initiated and drafted by the ministry of human rights and women development passed the federal government cabinet meeting on Thursday 18 July 2018. which has get the support of the federal government who met members of the PWDs persons with disabilities and the ministry of the human rights and women development Ms. Deko Yasin
the federal parliament, house of the people committees has been disputing the lead committee and ministry of the bill. the ministry of labor and the ministry of human rights women claiming the legality and ownership of the bill.
the ministry of social and labor has passed national disability policy 2015 in the federal government of Somalia cabinet presided by Mr. Omar Abdirashid and the government of the Mr. Hassan Sheikh. a policy draft that lacked the consultation and cooperation of the persons with disabilities.
Somalia persons with disabilities are more than 15% who are suffering in culturally oriented society where there is mass discrimination again the PWDs in the community. DPOs disabled people organizations who came with vision and contribution of the PWDs realized the initiation of service for the PWDs care, shelter, education, employment and human rights advocacy .
nothing about us without us. what most PWDs and DPOs concern more is the attempts of the Somalia federal government towards disabled people participation the government to be meaning full and supportive that may represent and contribute the promotion human rights and participation the government and of development programs in the country.
