On 13 October 2019 in Mogadishu I national disability rights act launching ceremony was held in Mogadishu at Hotel Peace in Mogadishu Wadajir District opposite Madina Gate Amisom Headquarter in Somalia Mogadishu.
Well mobilized conference organized by the ministry of Human Rights and Women Development Somalia federal government opened by Mrs. Deqo Yasin the ministry of Human Rights and Women Development with Ministry of Labor Mr. Sadik Warfa and other members of the ministry HRWD the director and the staff doing the work
The participants of the event were most top leaders, activities and member of the PWDs persons with disabilities from male and female where they have made good image of the disability people in the event. The meeting was opened and the work started in the morning before the break.
Mrs. Deqo Yasi the ministry of Human Rights and Women Development opened the meeting thanked to the people participating the meeting and the ministry of labor thanked to the hard work of the ministry of HRWD for the disability people advocacy and protection where they promised to open joint work for national disability act drafting process
The PWDs persons with disabilities and DPOs who make speech the event mentioned the role of the the ministry of Human Rights and Women Development and the role of the DPOs. The head of the National disability council and the head of the Somali disability cluster give speech thanking the ministry of HRWD and requested close coordination and cooperation between the stakeholder of the disability in the country
Although most participant were male we are glad that one third of the participants where female most of them from the PWDs. Where they have expressed the need for participation the female disability. We are very sorry that the FPWDs Female Persons With Disabilities was given speech in the conference. We welcome the good work and hope good achievement in the future
In a side meeting in the launch time by group of FPWDs female persons with disabilities we mentioned the best way to stand our role in the national disability agency that will be formed near future and the inputs of the national disability act drafting process. Where we understood to have more other ad hoc meeting FPWDs female persons with disabilities in our offices and village
FPWDs female persons with disabilities call to the international community and the government to give us hand realizing our role for the disability work in the country. We want to see the share of the FPWDs female persons with disabilities in the national disability agency and other national opportunities.
One problems we all have FPWDs female persons with disabilities have in common is that many people are very worried about the suicide bomb attack on 24 July 2019 that happened in Banadir local authority headquarter caused the death and injury of more people. A case suspected to behind Mss. Basir Abdir Mohamed blind female that was member of our campaign. This problems caused collective punishment for all Somalia disability people particularly FPWDs female persons with disabilities
