On Wednesday 31 July 2019 Somalia ratified the CRPD the foreign affairs ministry Mr. Awad signed in front of the ministry of human right. This is historic day for the PWDs persons with disability in Somalia to have right with member states of the CRPD in the world
CRPD convention rights persons disability is an international convention officially utilized 2006 in the united nation for the nationwide disability rights protection and development. This convention spread the world where most state signed and ratified the convention.
CRPD member state are 178 that Somalia may be 179 if all necessary requirement for the state membership finalized within the next months. Somalia will join official the member states that will give right benefit the development PWDs programs in the world
Somalia PWDs Persons with disabilities and DPOs disabled people organization welcome the finalization of the CRPD member state. And thanks to the Ministry of women and human rights Mrs. Deko Yasin and President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo who jointly signed the CRPD in this year
CRPD will give more support and protection the PWDs persons with disabilities in the country where there are no national law protecting the rights of the disability people and members of their families in Somalia.
