On Wednesday 10 July 2019 in Mogadishu the bimonthly Somalia CSO meeting is held in Mogadishu for the members of the clusters, independent election commission and GBV working groups where the team discussed some key issue surrounding the right of the citizen for protection, participation of election and human rights monitoring mechanism
The meeting was opened Muna Abuagla the senior UNSOM human rights officer with facilitation Mr. Abdinasir Moallin UNSOM human right officer with cooperation of the Mr. Yusuf Kalin and Mrs. Fardowsa who all made different presentation in the meeting for the work of the human rights and GBV in Somalia
After that the seven cluster made brief update for the last months work and activities implemented by the member of the seven cluster working in the country. The cluster for human rights, women and children, humanitarian and development. Disabled People, Youth, Marginalized community and the Media who all done great work in the area of operations
the National independent election commission Somalia joined the meeting where they have made presentation outlining the work of the NIEC and the future elections of Somalia after explanation of the 8 key billers of the NIEC strategy the participants ask question mainly focusing the possibility of the one persons one vote and the inclusivity of the committee work .
Mr. Yusuf briefly presented human rights abuses recoding, monitoring and verification tools and mechanism for the members . and Mrs. Fardowsa who presented brief work of the GBV work in the last months and the next meeting for the GBV working groups.
