SOWDA Somali Women Disability Association organized one day event awareness for the rights of the disabled females in the country who are suffering great human rights violation and abuses against the public and private rights in the country.
SOWDA organized one day even Panel discussion for the disabled women rights awareness participated forty persons from the PWDs personas with disabilities mostly females to exchange idea and question about the role of the disabled female in the community. The topic was to raise awareness for the equal opportunities in the PWDs persons with disabled where female participation is very law
Mr. Abdullahi Hassan the chairperson of the SDPC disabled people cluster said thanks all participant whose majority are females. We all have rights that we have take care of it in our community and country. The more we have female PWDs in our side will make us strong for the achievement our goals.
Mss. Asho Ali Hassan member of SOWDA organization thanked to the all we have made the event today to raise the voice of the disabled women and girls in our community. We have more female disability in number but we feel sad when we saw small number in education and work for the disability people. Our panel is how can we increase the participation of the disabled people works as great number
Mr. Abdullahi Hussein Osman chairperson IEDP said we have been working the education and advocacy for more years there hundreds person trained the human rights and vocational skills training in our center. We are very much board that some of them are active working the human rights and development disability people.
Mr. Ali Abdullahi Salaad chairperson of the we trying motivate female with disabilities to lead our works where we can make development for the human rights and political participation. More women disabled member our work will make easy for us more.
Mss. Basira Abdi Mohamed the chairperson SOWDA we have organized the event to wake up the female with disability for the education, employment and political participation. We belief that we can contribute our future if we stand up and lobby for inclusive for all.
Mr. Abdirahman Lunge the director of the disability office in the Village Somalia explained the high number of the female in our community and lack of participation will be problem for the campaign to promote the rights of the disabled people. If huge number of the people serving are missing there will gap that needs to be fill in.
