meeting is held in Mogadishu at IEDP center for the DPOs disabled people organizations to discuss the nomination of the Somalia national human rights body representatives where disabled people were given one seat for the 9 members and 2 selection panel 19 persons where the ministry of the human rights has proposed to the disabled people the submission of the persons responsible for them the process
the two member of the selection panel were one female and one male where after competition between the female position was contested two females Mrs. Aisha Ali Hassan and Mrs Halawi Sh Dahir the vote was given to Mrs Halawi Sh Dahir to be the female person member the selection panel for the national human rights commission
other position of the male is given Mr. Mohamed Khalif omer who was not there but was represented by Mr. Omar Abdisalam colleague member of the visual impaired persons. this has done well and after changes that lasted two week from 3 December event will last the next week.
in the next days we hope to start the nomination of the persons contesting the national human rights council membership where currently there more people. as our schedule we are planning to send to persons who will be submitted to the selection panel and the selection panel will make the final selections
members of the HADF horn Africa disability forum and NDC national disability council took part the event where the two chairpersons had coordinated the work and IEDP center facilitated. we thank ministry of human rights and the UNSOM human rights office for their contribution of this work.
