Interantional Human Rights Day commemoration ceremony in Somalia

highly organized event to mark international human rights day 10 december is held in Mogadishu. large ceremoney jiontly organized Somalia civil society organization, UNSOM and UNDP took place in Mogadishu at Jazira Palace Hotel.

the event participants were 70 persons from the six cluster of the UNSOM civil society cluster and members of the governemnt new MPS and international community.

UNSOM civil society member cluster are

1- Women and children cluster

2- youth Cluster

3- Human Rights cluster

4- Humanitarian cluster

5- disabled people cluster

6- Somali Journalist cluster

the event was very large where participants has made presentation and speech about the human rights in somalia. the event is part of the 16 days international human rights days.

Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Mo’alim the head the Somali journalist cluster and the secretary general of the NUSOJ took voluntarily the coordination of the event

Mrs. Muna the head of the Somali youth cluster welcomed the participants and thanked their venture the time for the event. she has made brief outline of the Somali youth rights

Mrs. Asli  speaking for the women deeply talked the issue of the gedner equality and participation from the grass root level

Mr. Abdullahi speaking the disabled people cluster in panel discussion explained the story of the disabled epople rights in Somali which he mentioned dark and ordeal that need collective support and campaign  from all parts of  the society from family, friends and politicians

Mr. Abdullahi from the UNDP translating the speach of UNDP high officer for the Parliament affairs thanked to the participants forthe event where she has encouraged the civil society their work and activities.

Mrs. Maryan Kasim Somali MP has explained the universal rights for every human.  members  of the international has  talked the human rights,  freedom of media. disability, gender and parliamentarian/presidential election in the country.

MP Mr. Abdulahi Godah Bare closed the event and thanked to the all participants. he said we know what happend and what is going, good or  bad we have to make  collective work to correct the wrong policy in the country. i presenaly regrate what has happened in the past. i hope good government  for somalia that can make true the support of the people.

the event is funded jiontly UNDP and UNSOM with coordination of the 6 CS cluster of Somalia
