highly organized ceremony to mark the international day of the disabled people in the world is held in Mogadishu for the rights of the disabled people in the country. the event was jointly organized by the ministry of the women and human rights , the ministry of public works and the Somali national disabled council funded by SSG through USAID program
the participants of the event were 150 persons from the ministries, civil society, PWDs and the religious groups where the gust of the events has presented lectures about the right and role of the disabled people in the country for the governance and civil society.

the ministry of public works Mr. Salah speaking said thanks all participants and organizers of the event i thanks to the disabled people again for their works and attempts to make their rights up. our ministry with partner of the SSG now working conclusion of the building code that will give PWDs access public and private building and streets
Mrs halawi shikh dahir from the PWDs said we want active role for the girls and women with disability in the community. i had case that impact where some of my family has prevented me access of education for my disability only. fortunately some other of my family helped to learn more that gave me forget my disability and participate the community.
Mr Mohamed Abdisalm blind man said i i ma very glad to stand in front of you and say view words about my disability and challenges, i finished my school with very hard circumstances and finished my first and second degree. i learned education with non disabled people that made active and smart that you see who elegant dressings and active speaking
mr. abdullahi hassan chair of HADF Horn Africa Disability forum speaking overall disability rights said there over 7 billions people in the world one out of the seven billions is disability, that there are nearly one billion PWDs persons with disabilities on earth. there are certain regulation that protects the rights of the disabled ople the CRPWD convention rights persons with disabilities and affirmative whic give protection the disabled people. unusual this year is different from other ceremonies that used to be hold for us only. where SSG has enabled us to hire five star hotel and invite key important ministries that my contribute the matter of the disability.
Shiekh Mohamed from religious groups explained the misunderstanding of the disability and the use of disability word as name. firs the use of disability is not legal for Islam let us say ( people with special needs ) and in the community they have role and position as our righteous people. blinds is nothing put look the soul of the persons. they have better personality and commitment than more other non disabled.
Mr. Ali abdulahi Slad the chairman of the national disability council thanked the all people in the room and thanked again the two ministries and the SSG that make possible this large event. we know SSG is working building and promised to pursue other national law like legislation and parliament.
Doctor Abdikani the direct general of the Ministry women and human rights said we thanks all of you the participant, we assure that we stand the support of the human right in general and PWDs persons with disabilities has particular impact to us. we promise to coordinate works that can improve the rights of disability. the ministry insure that we have included the one persons national human rights council 9 persons one of them to be disabled. and the 19 persons the selection committee 2 persons for the disabled people
