on Tuesday 12 October 2016 ceremony to mark world sight day is held in Somalia by the Somali Association for the Blind and the union of the sight doctors and clinics network where the participants has presented the importance of this day in the world 12 October is world sight day which is commemorated in the world by the people with visual impairment and professional doctors.
the event was held in Al-furat Hotel funded jointly the tow host organization. the participants most of the were blind people and blind students from Alnur school has shared more about the day with other people. this day is one of the international days in the world and public colanders where the sight is remarked with symbols of eyes and white cane. where smart white cane where distributed some of the people participate the event.
the participants who speak there were General Mohamed Yusuf Madale member of the tops Somalia police commanders has thanked the people who organized the event and said we police have respect for the blind as our duty of national. speaking he said, the blind people are excluded from the public opportunities the employment and is not fair.
the chairman of the SAB Somalia association for the blind Shiikh Ibrahim said there enormous of obstacles against the blind people like the public commuter drivers have no respect and skill to deal with blind and other people in the community.
