Somalia is a small country in the horn of Africa with population of more than 13 millions most of the nomadic  farmers and livestock. the country served three decades of civil wars that has left unimaginable consequences on the lives of the civilians, environment and economic as well as the political system in the country went wrong.

children has been number one victim of the wars who suffering great humanitarian needs and safety from all kinds harassment against them. they are problems affecting the lives of the Somalia children  every in the country both urban and non urban uncounted and responded most of  them.

since the  77 wars between Somalia and Ehtopia there has been land mine victim in the country attributed thousands landmine planted in the regions surrounding the  border between the two countries as a enemy protection for the army. these land mines scattered  every region with border line where most Somalia regions have border with  Ethiopian.

in the regions  with landmine planted, every day there are death and wounds caused by the land mine unreported and responded because of the logistical and technical problems and lack of awareness for the people in the area the way to respond against the land mine cases. the people in are have problem with transportation for the emergency of the victim of the landmine because most the rural village in the area have no medical service or hospital.

there are documents and map providing the people in the area guidelines helping them to prevent themselves from the danger of the mines their children and animals which to main victim suffering problems in the areas. children in the remote villages of these regions have access entertainment and sport rather they some time try to play the landmine and ERW the found in the jungle while they keeping  the goats, cows or camels  alone. if one found an object different of the stone and wood they try to grape and call other to share play the object that can be landmine, ERW or bomb risking them selves.

case study

the last case of May 2016 when group children in village outside Afmadow district Jubland  group of children found landmine in the  jungle has tried to shake and hit some of the dead and other left maimed rest of their lives handicapped. live with be worthless for the children in the rural if the lost their limps  because they will nothing to their  families who depend on livestock or farming where child is useful resource parent need for the daily lives.

other case

Mr. Ali Aden victim of Landmine in childhood lost his two eyes and hands after they have hit landmine they found in outskirt of the Beleweyne Hiran region. he is now in Mogadishu where south better live different from the hard live of the rural areas.

there has been projects funded UNMAS, ICBAL, MAG, DDG ICRC and other international humanitarian  donors most of the research and report outcome of paper to share international community and donors. there small cases of victim assistance mostly done ICRC that provide orthopedic and mobility services  the people in some conman region where they have station.

most other region in the country has no access support from the Victim Assistance support stakeholder where they have not communication Chanel facilitating to contact the stakeholder. some of the Donors in the country  working landmine prevention and victim support are not working actively on the ground for security reasons and government is not controlling most of the area affected the landmine cases.

the people in the far regions are mostly nomadic farmers and livestock where they have no access to the media feeding the information about the landmine in the areas, the risk and prevention education. one important thing was to prepare map where landmine plants are thought to be isolated and notified the people. there are no documentary films that could help the nomadic watch and take aware the risk of the landmine
