No one has been able to fathom exactly what BBC Sports day presenter Chris Mitchell was thinking when he tapped away on his hand at the end of a bulletin report.
The bizarre moment came as his studio report ended and he pretended to tap an imaginary tablet or Smartphone device live on air.
As the camera zoomed out at the end of his report, Mitchell was seen miming scrolling and swiping motions on the palm of his hand.
Mitchell, who may have thought no one would notice the lack of a device in his hand, responded to a Twitter user who suggested he had stolen the “iPad blooper” crown from fellow BBC presenter Simon McCoy.
