On June 2018 the Somalia federal government cabinet passed national disability agency draft bill. Tenth Somalia federal government parliament signed 2018 the national disability agency establishment law. The federal government president HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo Signed bill on 31 December 2018 as law in the country in front most key actors of the Somalia PWDs and the DPOs the Disabled people organization who made great struggle to get national disability counicle or authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kindly hearted and bravely HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo thanked to the members from the PWDs and DPOs their active work on the ground that forced the establishment of the national disability agency, the president speak to the ministry of the women and human rights Mrs. Deko Yasin to have consultation and cooperation the key actors and the decision makers from the PWDs and DPOs for the selection, nomination and proposal of the agency board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministry of the women and human rights Mrs. Deko Yasin took the responsibility to finalize the establishment of the agency 31 December 2018.\u00a0 06 September 2020 the minister preceded the work of the agency without the full cooperation from the PWDs. \u00a0The minister of the women and human rights prepared five persons from the disability people who most of them were uneducated, skilled and experienced for the issue of the disability people<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In light of the CRPD ratification and signature Somalia on 06 August 2019 fully signed the parliament and federal government of Somalia president with pressure from the PWDs, DPOs and the campaign for the ministry of the women and human rights Mrs. Deko Yasin and starting the national disability act draft bill in process supporting the right of the PWDs in Somalia<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members from the PWDs and DPOs organized several time from 2018-2020 to put pressure the cabinet and the ministry of the women and human rights finalization of qualified and trustable board of director for the national disability agency. Asking the ministry to work with PWDS and DPOs the selection and screening of the individuals who apply the agency board membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CRPD violations start immediately with one year the Somali government signed. The ministry of the women and human rights turned deaf the demand from the PWDs and DPOs to establish disability department in the ministry of the women, rather under control Unit in the human rights section run, managed and staffed team without disability. The ministry did not organize national disability forum in the country that could raise support the PWDs and DPOs in the humanitarian, development and political participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New ministry was named September 2020 the ministry of the women and human rights Mrs. Hanifa who took meeting with members from the PWDs and DPOs organizaed IEDP centre on 17 novmber 2020 where she promised to work with members from the PWDs and DPOs. Where some of the particiaptns expressed their concern corruption against disability agency board selection. Which told will not happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately on Thursday \u00a0\u00a021 January \u00a02021 Prime minister Mohamed Hussen Roble in the last session of the cabinet which their time is expiring on 8 February 2021 corruptly passed five person selected by\u00a0 team of ministries and MPs who bring their relatives to the board.\u00a0 After hot discussion among the cabinet for the disability agency the prime minister signed running out of time the cabinet.\u00a0\u00a0 The board passed were uneducated, skilled and experienced for the disability issue. It was one of the major corruptions made the cabinet in\u00a0 their last hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, members from the PWDs and DPOs wake to take action against the corruption made the national disability agency board. They send messages and request to the federal government parliament and president not to legalize the disability gate in Somalia one of the most corruption that happen in Somalia against the disability people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
