{"id":5338,"date":"2019-12-03T20:35:16","date_gmt":"2019-12-03T17:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/somalionlinemedia.com\/?p=5338"},"modified":"2026-04-16T11:38:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T11:38:44","slug":"the-commemoration-of-international-disability-people-day-in-somalia-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/faafitv.com\/?p=5338","title":{"rendered":"The Commemoration Of International Disability People Day In Somalia 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t\t\t\t\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/somalionlinemedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IDD-2019-PIC-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5339\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday &nbsp;3 December\n2019&nbsp; international day of the disabled people\ncommemoration events has been organized in the country by the PWDs Persons with\ndisabilities, &nbsp;DPOs disabled people organization\nand Networks in Mogadishu and other places in the regions with jubilant\nspectators and participants <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Somalia Disability Cluster network with cooperation of\nthe members DPOs and other civil society organization and the UNSOM human nights\nprotection groups&nbsp; organized the event\nwhich is participated&nbsp; sixty persons from\nthe PWDs&nbsp; persons with disabilities and\nthe non disabled people mostly human rights and development activist<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was held in Mogadishu at the Hodan district opposite\nthe ministry of the foreign &nbsp;affair which\nthe participants exchanged their opinions and ideas about the problems&nbsp; facing the disabled people from the&nbsp; community&nbsp;\nin the social, culture, economic, development and political participation\nwhich where the main talk that overshadowed the event<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was panel discussion with three thematic&nbsp; focus of areas that are very important for\nthe Somali disability and the current situation of the PWDs persons with disabilities\nand the DPOs the disabled people organization in the advocacy, implementation\nand protection legislation for the disability people <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Panel question were <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Decade of the CRPD ratification advocacy <\/li><li>Start point of the CRPD implementation advocacy <\/li><li>National disability act <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Eight &nbsp;question &nbsp;from the participation to the panelist &nbsp;mainly covered the <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The participation political and election <\/li><li>The Participation publics service the children of\nthe disabled families and the disabled children <\/li><li>The participation of the social service and\nproject with parent of the PWDs and DPOs <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The panelist responded the question with future collaboration\nthe sources and the best way to access the persons with disability participation\nof the election and beneficiary of the public good and service mostly provided\nby the international NGOs and the government organs <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The overall participants questions and the&nbsp; respond from the panelist covered the acknowledgment\nof the decade long advocacy for the CRPD ratification in Somalia, start of the\nCRPD implementation advocacy jointly the civil society, DPOs, international\nNGOs and the government<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been more than ten event IDD 2019 commemoration ceremonies\norganized in the country&nbsp; where more than\nthree events organized in Mogadishu hotels and other in&nbsp; federal state regions with cooperation of the\nfederal state ministries and the DPOs. Somalia government signed the CRPD this\nyear 2019 that makes full member of the state parts of the convention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year the IDD international day of disabled people is different from previous years where there is more participation from the civil society and the government and federal state regional government.
