IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly\nmigration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice\nto governments and migrants.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Context:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Background Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working under the overall direction of the Senior Supply Chain\nOfficer and under direct supervision of Supply Chain Officer, the intern will\nassist with the operational activities of the Common Services Unit. Tasks will\ninclude:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Core Functions \/\nResponsibilities:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Support Procurement Assistant in establishing a database of list\nof suppliers and service providers under different categories;<\/li><li>Assist the procurement staff members in retrieval, photocopying\nand scanning documents.<\/li><li>Assist in filing all documents, reports, and procurement\nrecords, tenders, bids etc and make sure they are updated regularly.<\/li><li>Assist in following up the document for signatories and update\nthe procurement tracking sheet in a database.<\/li><li>Follow-up on purchase orders status and keep client informed of\nestimated time of deliver or any changes that may affect or modify the\npre-determined delivery conditions;<\/li><li>Perform other related duties as may be required.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Required Qualifications\nand Experience<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>University degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management and\nother related fields, zero years of experience.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Able to carry out tasks with attention to detail and\ndemonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality;<\/li><li>Required IOM functional competencies; effective communicator,\nsuccessful negotiator, creative and analytical thinker, active learner and team\nplayer.<\/li><li>Good computer knowledge in MS Office packages.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Fluent in English and Somali<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility and Selection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented\nstudents and graduates who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered,\nareas relevant to IOM programmes and activities;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in\ninternational organizations and\/or for whom internship is required to complete\ntheir studies;
