on 26 march 2016 nearly 20 DPOs working in somalia had their second meeting in SWDC headquarter in Mogadishu where they have discussed\u00a0 issues concerning the unity of the DPOs and mainstreaming their works public in the civil society and governemnt works where there is now wide discrimination against the DPOs and disabled persons.<\/p>\n

this meeting is after\u00a0 meeting 20 march 2016 that took place in HIDWO center in somalia where\u00a0 members of the DPOs has made joint\u00a0 statement statement about the unity of the DPOs and their partners in the country. issued three articles<\/p>\n

  1. capacity building for DPOs and PWDs<\/li>\n
  2. organization\u00a0 national disability conference<\/li>\n
  3. initialization constitutional rights in the country<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    DPOs and PWDs has made concerns about the role of the Somali governemnt and international community for the people with disabilities . there is exclusion from the governemnt opportunities the employment, participation of decision making organs and meeting where people with disabilities can present their needs and problems.<\/p>\n

    the international community has closed door\u00a0 from the DPOs and People with disabilities in somalia where most of the investment and programs are not inclusive for all where DPOs and PWDs program are taken care for the investment, employment and participation of their meeting<\/p>\n

    there are more than 5000 national employees where we have found only 26 persons with disabilities among them. and the international agencies, embassies the UN agencies\u00a0 have not taken care their international mandate forcing inclusive for all. unfortunately in somalia inclusive for is known and translated for the role of the females in the public.<\/p>\n

    the international community has been putting pressure somalia federal governemnt participation of the females in the government institution the parliament, cabinet and national army commandeers where some of them has been implemented for the gender equality<\/p>\n

    the people with disabilities in somalia has established more that 20 DPO\u00a0 disabled people organizations in the country and more than 9 schools for the physical disabled, deaf and blind people, besides there is tens of IDP cam hosting high number of disabled persons with the host community<\/p>\n

    some disabled persons activist has been trying to uplift the rights of the PWDs people with disabilites from the dark it has been for long time. and they have expressed their commitment to wait seeing that lights and hope come true one day.<\/p>\n
