On Monday 30 December 2019 IEDP started the first day of the two days training workshop for capacity building the DPOs the disabled people organization is organized by IEDP center. The training was held in Mogadishu for the executive, members and the staff of the DPOs based n Mogadishu the capital city of Somalia.
Over a fifty persons participants from the DPOs participated one third of them females who took training for the definition of disability, disabled people organization, managing organizations, planning, implementation of the project, decision making and financial management and reporting for the activities, meetings and advocacy which are the key elements for the DPOs
Most participants in the training acknowledge the new chapter for the DPOs strengthen and development in the country to manage the service delivery, CRPD advocacy and human rights protection and the participation of the development and policy in the country to play great role the PWDs and DPOs in Somalia
On Tuesday 31 December 2019 IEDP second day of the two days training capacity building seminar for the DPOs the disabled people organization is finalized . The training was held in Mogadishu for the executive, members and the staff of the DPOs based in Mogadishu the capital city of Somalia.
Over a fifty persons participants from the DPOs took lessons including females who gained in the training the definitions of disability rights, advocacy, protection and promotion in Somalia. Where the actors of the DPOs gained the capacity to define disability and the need existing in the disability, the gap and the opportunities to be benefited in their operations
The trained was closed by the chairperson of the Somali disability cluster, the coordinator of disability in Benedir local authority and the chairperson of the national disability council .
